High Security Steel Doors

Where a standard personnel door does not provide sufficient protection, high security-rated steel doors offer increased resistance against forced entry and deliberate attack. We can provide doorsets with independently tested security performance including PAS 24 and LPS 1175-rated solutions.

PAS 24 Security Doors

PAS 24 doors are tested to provide enhanced resistance against common methods of attack and forced entry. These doors are suitable for applications where increased security is required without moving into the heavier levels of protection associated with specialist high-security doors. They can be particularly effective for commercial buildings, residential developments, communal areas, offices and other low-to-medium risk environments.

LPS 1175 Security Doors

For sites requiring greater resistance against deliberate attack, LPS 1175-rated steel doors can provide substantially increased protection. Different classifications are available depending on the anticipated tools, attack methods and duration the doorset is designed to resist.

Reinforced Construction

Security-rated doors incorporate reinforced leaves, frames, locking points and hardware designed to resist attack. Unlike a conventional steel door where the primary purpose may simply be access control, every component within a certified security doorset works together as part of the tested system. This means locks, hinges, frames, glazing and associated hardware must all be correctly specified.

High-Security Locking

A variety of locking systems can be incorporated depending on the required level of protection and operational use. Options can include single-point and multi-point locking, high-security cylinders, electronic locking and access-controlled configurations. Where the door also forms part of an emergency escape route, suitable panic or emergency hardware can be incorporated within approved configurations.

Secured by Design

Selected security doors are available with Secured by Design approval. Secured by Design is the official police security initiative focused on improving physical security and designing out opportunities for crime through tested products and appropriate building design.

Security Without Compromising Access

High-security doors do not necessarily need to make everyday access difficult. Doors can be configured for regular personnel use using handles, access control, intercoms and other entrance systems while retaining the required security performance when locked.

Fire & Security Performance

Certain security doors can also be supplied with fire resistance where both requirements must be achieved by the same opening.

Where multiple performance requirements are involved, the complete certified doorset must be selected carefully to ensure one modification does not compromise another.
